Fresh food rescue and community nutrition support Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Nutri Box

How It Works

A simple operational model turns surplus produce into organized support for households and institutions.

Operational model

From surplus food to organized community nutrition support.

Nutri Box is designed to be simple enough for communities to understand and structured enough for partners to trust. The model connects food rescue, safe handling, distribution and reporting.

Surplus food is collected

Nutri Box works with farmers, markets and suppliers to identify safe surplus produce, imperfect vegetables and food that can still nourish families.

Food is sorted and organized

Produce is checked, sorted, grouped and prepared for the right program: family baskets, orphanage support, school kitchens or garden-linked outreach.

Distribution happens through programs

Families, orphanages, schools and stroke survivor households receive support through structured channels with community coordination.

Support is free, subsidized or sponsored

Donations, sponsorships and partnerships make nutritious produce accessible while helping prevent safe fresh food from becoming waste.

Take action

Help move fresh food from waste to plates.

Donate, sponsor a family, volunteer, or partner with Nutri Box to make community nutrition practical and measurable.
